Wild Goose Chase

Managed to see 5 species of Geese today. Tundra Bean at Blackmoorfoot, 2 Eurasian White fronted geese at Ingbirchworth  plus Pink foot at both sites and Greylag and Canada at the latter. Also a large flock of Brambling at Ingbirchworth and plenty of Fieldfare in the field with a few Tree Sparrow and Yellowhammer

Ferruginous Duck and Glaucous Gull

Spent a few hours birding this afternoon. Had a look at the Ferruginous Duck at Pugney CP and then went to Anglers CP were the small gull roost produced a very nice juvenile Glaucous Gull. Also seen were a Barn Owl , lots of noisy Tree Sparrows, and some Whooper Swans

Cumbria

Excellent day out yesterday in Cumbira. First off was Sizergh castle with good views of a couple of Hawfinch. Then onto Leighton Moss where we had the best views ever of a Great White Egret. Also seen were Marsh Tit, Greenshank, 5 Red breasted Mergansers Spotted Redshank Marsh Harrier and Tree Sparrow
