Black headed Bunting and Subalpine Warbler

Two new species at Flamborough today something I've not achieved in a long time. Cracking Black headed Bunting in hedge across field from Old Fall Plantation showed well although distant. Female Subalpine warbler took longer to get a decent view as it flitted in willows next to golf course

Errwood Reservoir

5 Common Redstarts 4 males, 2 Spotted Flycatchers, 1 male Pied Flycatcher this morning. Took the lighter camera. Last week went to Padley Gorge and saw a singing Wood Warbler, several Pied Flycatchers, and 1 Spotted Flycatcher

Great Reed Warbler

Good views of the constantly singing Great Reed Warbler at Wintersett today. It was a bit distant but gave good views at the top of the reeds.

Finland

Limited photo opportunities but the owl trip from Oulu delivered Pymgy Owl, Great Grey Owl- a female on eggs and flying male close by, Ural Owl-female in nest box and Tengalms Owl at nest box. Also seen were Northern Bullfinch with their trumpet call, Black Grouse, White-tailed Sea Eagle, White Wagtail, Garganey, Pied Flycatcher and constant sound of singing Fieldfare and Redwing and drumming Snipe. Some calling summer plumage Little Gull also seen at local bay

Bufflehead and Spurn

Bufflehead female (escape) at Lin Dike Fairburn Ings followed by some lovely spring migrants at Spurn

Spring Migrants

Nice couple of hours birding locally. Pair of Little Owl and Wheatear near Pots and Pans. Four Ring Ouzel, pair of Stonechat, bubbling Curlew and tumbling Lapwing in surrounding fields close to home. One Lapwing looked like it was sitting on eggs.
