South Africa

Capetown South Africa delivered a great holiday experience and fabulous birding. I went out for a day with Patrick Cardwell from Avian Leisure. It was a fantastic experience and we saw over 100 species thanks to Patrick's expert knowledge of the birds and the area as we moved up the west coast above Capetown. I think I may be addicted to African birding now! I need to come back to see the flocks of Roller that can be seen  in Kruger Park in the spring.
Highlights of the birding were the Sunbirds, Black Harrier and Verreaux's Eagle. Other wildlife highlights included watching a Humpback Whale and a close encounter with a great White Shark.
